Next Book Group Meeting 4th February
By Lambeth Autism Group, Jan 21 2016 04:00PM
Our next meeting is on Thursday 4th February.
Our meeting will begin with those people who visited the House of Commons telling us about their experience of helping parliament become more autism friendly.
We will also have a special guest. Trudi from the National Autistic Society Head Quarters hopes to join us. She recruits volunteers and is interested in what local branches offer. The book group has earned a glowing reputation and may well be copied in other parts of the country.
Our February book is 'All Our Names' by Dinaw Mengestu.
All Our Names is a novel about two young friends who join an uprising against Uganda's corrupt regime in the early 70s. As the line blurs between idealism and violence, one of them flees for his life…
Copies are now available for collection from the welcomes desk at Clapham Library. Ask for the book for the First Thursday book group with librarian Andrew O’Brien.
Here is a link to YouTube where the author reads from the book.
